Garret Turel is a serial killer (no doubt to get back at all the kids who made fun of his atrocious name), Sarah is his ex-girlfriend who lives in an apartment littered with Christmas lights and is trying to recover from their tumultuous breakup as well as a past of chronic alcoholism. She begins to see someone new and invests a lot of trust in him . . . and why shouldn't she? He's nowhere near as psychotic as her murderous ex, right? Right?!!?
Oftentimes authors or screenwriters will craft a story about characters whose individual stories converge; A Horrible Way to Die examines how these Garret's and Sarah's lives diverge after the breakup. The result is a priceless hidden gem with an exquisite plot twist, realistic acting and a great payoff that still leaves the viewer with a feeling of dread.
